Youth Group Blast

August 7, 2025

Dear Parents

It’s good to be back! After a full summer away, I’m excited to step back into Sabbath School and reconnect with your teens as we kick off the new school year. I have bene praying for you, your families, and most definitely your teen. I have been looking forward to stepping back into youth ministry for several weeks now and this Sabbath will be my first Sabbath back teaching.

Paul tells us to “Fight the good fight of faith” and all this month we’re going to be diving deep into what that means. How are Christian’s suppose to fight? What is a good fight? Where do we begin? I’m excited as we will be exploring all these aspects this week and month.

This week we’re starting with a powerful question: Is God real? Should be an easy question with the security of our church, but honestly many students question God’s existence, and even more what it means if He does exist. Do our everyday lives actually reflect what we say we believe? We’ll be challenging the students to wrestle with what it means to align their behavior with their beliefs—and whether their lives testify that they truly believe in the God of the Bible.

I’m praying this year will be one of depth, ownership, and transformation—and I’m honored to walk alongside your teens as they grow in their faith.

Connection Points

This week, I encourage you to spend a few minutes talking with your teenager about our lesson. Consider building your conversation around James 1:22-25 and these questions (and remember you ought to be answering these questions too):
•  What does it look like to "deceive yourself" by only listening to God's word?
•  When was a time when it was hard to live out what you believe about God?
•  In what areas of your life right now do you think your actions line up well with your belief in God?
•  What's one step you could take this week to live out your faith more clearly?

Have a great time exploring these topics. Thanks for your prayers and support!
