Dear Parents
This month we are spending time in Daniel chapter two. We have been looking at how prophecy shows up in real history, how God brings true change to the heart, and how Scripture still speaks into the lives of our teens today. This week we are turning our attention to courage through the moment when Daniel stepped into the throne room and spoke to a king who already planned to execute every wise person in the kingdom. He did not walk in with swagger. He walked in with peace that came from prayer and from knowing God was with him.
Our teens might not face ancient kings, but they do face classrooms, lunch tables, group chats, and social pressure that all test their courage in quieter ways. Courage for them often looks like choosing kindness when gossip is easier, choosing honesty when it costs something, and choosing faith even when it feels risky. God honors those moments. He gives strength that goes deeper than fear and He uses community to lift them up. Thank you for creating homes where faith can grow and where your teens know they are not standing alone.

Connection Points
This week, I encourage you to spend a few minutes talking with your teenager about our lesson. Consider building your conversation around Matthew 10:32-33 and these questions:
• Everyone has an opinion about truth, but what do you think is the difference between opinion and truth? More clearly and to the point, what is truth?
• When was the last time a topic came up that made you feel awkward? How did you handle it?
• What makes us afraid to enter into “fearless conversations” about God?
Have a great time exploring these topics. Thanks for your prayers and support!

Announcements
Christmas Vespers! - Each year our youth group adopts a family or two for Christmas and we pour out love in the way of giving gifts. We also eat good food, worship, play games, and build relationships. This year we will have our vespers on December 12 - 6-7:30pm. Followed by our White Elephant Gift Exchange.
White Elephant Gift Exchange - Directly following vespers we will partake in a fun CVC Youth Tradition of a gift exchange. Students are instructed to not buy anything, instead to wrap something UNIQUE or INTERESTING already in their home. One thing I have sadly have to highlight each year: NO TRASH.
Refocus - No Refocus this week due to Thanksgiving Break
Bible Study Small Group - Almost every Friday night Mic and Tori host a small group Bible study in their home from 7:15-9:00pm. This is a time for your teen to be able to ask questions about life, eternity, God, or really anything. We open up the Bible and dive in discovering what it means for us and our faith journey. This is one of the best things we do.
