Dear Parents
When it comes to Adventist history, few chapters of the Bible are as foundational as Daniel 2 and Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. This month we’ll look at the chapter from several different angles: practical (what lessons from Daniel’s experience speak to us today?), prophetic (how do the metals in Nebuchadnezzar’s statue line up with history?), and applicable (how should we live knowing these truths?).
Daniel was taken from his home, marched across the desert, mistreated by the Chaldeans, and yet through it all, he stayed faithful to God and ran toward Him when life got hard. This week our teens will be challenged to hold on to their faith and run to Jesus when things get difficult.

Connection Points
This week, I encourage you to spend a few minutes talking with your teenager about our lesson. Consider building your conversation around Chronicles 20:35-37 and these questions:
• When you’re in trouble who is another person, you always turn to for help?
• Who did Jehoshaphat trust to get his ships to Tarshish, and what was the outcome?
• What causes people to trust in others instead of God?
• How can our family lean more on God during these kind of times?
Have a great time exploring these topics. Thanks for your prayers and support!

Announcements
Thanksgiving Vespers! - Each year we hold a special vespers focused around why we are grateful for those in our lives. This year it will be on Friday November 7 from 5:30-8pm. It will be at the Henton house (130 Winfield Rd. Lincoln, NE 68512). In the spirit of the first Thanksgiving this will be a potluck style dinner with specific time to write encouraging notes to others, we will have music and a special word from our very own Bella Becker. Your teen won't want to miss this night.
Refocus - This week will be a fan favorite for Refocus: Fear Factor. There will be "dangerous," gross, and endurance specific events for teams to battle through. I hope your teen will join us next week in the Youth Room, 6:30-8pm.
Bible Study Small Group - There is Bible study this week, but it will be at Nathan Machado's house! His address is 22053 A St. Eagle, NE 68347. We will still be going through Philippians but just having a change of location. I hope to see you there.
Almost every Friday night Mic and Tori host a small group Bible study in their home from 7:15-9:00pm. This is a time for your teen to be able to ask questions about life, eternity, God, or really anything. We open up the Bible and dive in discovering what it means for us and our faith journey. This is one of the best things we do.
